In 1995, a promotional postcard was mailed out that read "Start Spreading the News" to announce the grand opening of the spectacular New York-New York hotel and casino is Las Vegas. The discount hotels resort is conveniently located close to McCarren International Airport and sits at the "four corners" region on the Strip where it is adjacent to the MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, Luxor, Excalibur and Tropicana.

The architecture of New York New York is extremely clever, but simple. They just made scaled down replicas of most of the major buildings and landmarks in New York City and blended them together to house the guest accommodations.

The Statue of Liberty is the "hood ornament", so to speak, sitting in front of the resort on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Tropicana, and the Brooklyn bridge is the passageway to enter the resort. The skyscrapers are what actually contain the guest rooms, and they include the Empire State Building, Century Building, and Chrysler Building. Oddly enough, people wondered why the World Trade Center Towers weren't included with the other skyscrapers when it first opened more than 5 years before the 9/11 tragedy. Sadly enough, it was appropriately excluded in hindsight. As for the size of the skyscraper replicas, they are only about one-third of the actual size of the real buidlings, but they're still impressive anyway, and by no means possess a them of other discount hotels in Las Vegas.

 Inside the hotel, you'll find a wide variety of shops as well as replicas of real New York districts, like Times Square, Central Park, and Greenwich Village.

At the back of the resort is a large pool, surround by lots of trees and rock landscaping fixtures. And if you want to relax, their is a delightful spa on property that includes stream rooms, saunas, and oversized whirpool tubs.

The Coney Island Emporium is the name of the entertainment complex at New York, New York and is themed after Coney Island's historic amusement park and features The Manhattan Express roller coaster, a great thrill ride.

Inside of the skyscrapers, where the guest accommodations are stationed, there are over 2000 rooms and suites located throughout the ajoining "buildings" of New York.

During the evening hours, Coyote Ugly, and The Bar at Times Square offer live entertainment, and the ESPN Sportzone is the best place in the city to watch the games.

New York, New York has something for everyone and come recommended to anyone looking for a fun Las Vegas vacation.
